What to Ask in Interviews

While preparing for two interviews tomorrow, in addition to doing my usual research and preparations I am making a list of possible questions to ask of the interviewer at the end, something I have struggled with in the past. Questions are supposed to be specific and insightful without looking like you haven't done your proper research. Following AWC's tour of Edelman in LA this past weekend, I have learned something valuable insight into proper questions to ask at the end of an interview that will allow me to look professional as well as really interested in the company and the position.

The Human Resource represenative that spoke to use suggested asking questions such as:

- What are your clients like that you work with?
- What differences are there between the non-profit orgs you work with in comparison to the other organizations?
- What's the work style of the team like at your agency?
- What are the next steps in your interview process?
- Why is this position open?
- What role does the intern play overall in the agency?
- How are candidates evaluated?
- What are the day-to-day tasks for an intern?

While these questions aren't specific to a certain position they are easy to remember and worthwhile questions that will make you look prepared.

The most importnat rule: when an interviewer asks you if you if have questions never say NO! Always come prepared with something to ask of the interviewer!
